HSM 44 Magnum 200gr RNFP-H Cowboy Action Lead Ammo - 50 Rounds

I highly recommend this ammo and its 44 Spl counter-part for range ammo, and I highly recommend you purchase from Ventura. It's not top of the line but you really can't beat this price and quality without reloading. (I was shooting an S&W M69: 5 shot, 44 Magnum, L-frame, 4" barrel, 37oz. I noticed another reviewer had the same gun, I am glad it is become popular as it is a fantastic revolver.) Pros: - Fairly accurate. Not sub MOA @ 100yds but worthy of a 10" plate @ 75yds in the M69 (possibly better with a more experienced shooter) - Reliable. Every single round went boom and accuracy was very consistent. I can’t speak for the velocity as I do not own a Chronograph. - Lower recoil. Just what you would expect from a 44 mag cowboy load, very easy on the hands in a medium frame revolver. Cons: - Dirty shooter. Most .44 ammo is not clean but this made my gun more dirty than usual. The reason I only gave 4 stars is because it's not top of the line quality ammo. However, it is great for range ammo, the best .44 caliber plinking ammo that I can find right now, and I do believe you could use this for Self Defense and Hunting. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Why buy from Ventura Ammunitions? Here is why: I purchased 2 boxes of the HSM 200gr RNFP Cowboy Action Lead 44 Spl from Ventura and was exited since it was the first 44 Spl rounds I got for my new M69, I had only shot Magnum ammo previously. I went to one of the ranges I frequent; the indoor range does not allow ammo more powerful that standard .357 Magnum inside. Well, I did not check the boxes when I received them and it turned out VM had sent me the exact same HSM 200gr 44 cowboy bullets but in this Magnum round. This would have been fine since I was shooting a 44 Magnum revolver, but I could not shoot the Magnum ammo that day. The place does have a smaller outdoor range but it was pouring rain and it was not usable. I was not going to go home without shooting so I purchased remanufactured 44 Spl from the range and it was not cheap. I was pretty disappointed with VM that day, however, they have excellent customer service and when I called they told me to keep the 2 boxes of 44 mag and they sent me 2 boxes of the 44 Spl at no extra charge. To me that was a square deal and I have already ordered more ammo from them without issue and plan to order form them again. (I did a similar review for the HSM 44 Spl 200gr RNFP-H Cowboy Action ammo also since I have shot both rounds. They are essentially the same but one is 44Spl and the other is 44Mag. So the same bullet with a slightly different case and charge. Sitting in a bowl mixed up you wouldn't be able to tell them apart.)

I purchased three boxes of HSM 200 grain 44 Magnum cast RNFP Cowboy Action loads for my S&W Model 69 revolver. The velocity rates 955 over my chrnograph. I carry it as field ammunition when walking over my property here in NC. It would be perfect for anything up to Eastern white tail deer (or two legged predators). Accuracy is very good, 3 inches at 20 yards from a seated position. It does not lead the bore. Unfortunately it is sold out but as soon as I can I will order more. I think this is approx the same as the 41 Mag police load.

If you like to shoot the bigger calibers but the cost is prohibitive, this is the cheapest way to go. Most people buy handguns because they want to shoot them. Buying these rounds allows you to get out and shoot without feeling guilty about the cost.
