Authentic Cowboy Action Ammunition - Awhile back, Blacks Hills' Cowboy Action shooting friends asked if they could make a line of period correct ammunition. They didn't see and reason why these folks should be using anything less than the true, no-nonsense, period-correct loads. So they grilled the history buffs. Black Hills found out why the originals were made the way they were. Then they carefully fashioned a line of fourteen calibers and had those shooter friends of theirs try them out. Since then, they hadn't heard a peep, and Black Hills were forced to make a bunch more. Though no one has ever really had to force them to make more ammunition. Blacks Hills just came by that naturally.

    I had not ever purchased ammo from Ventura Munitions before I found this Black Hills ammo for my turn of the century Colt SAA revolver and Winchester rifle. Nobody had 38-40 ammo in stock. Ventura Munitions not only had it in stock, they had Black Hills 38-40 in stock. Black Hills is great ammo, and Ventura Munitions has good prices, good service and really fast shipping.

    nice cowboy action loads for my very old rifle

    Shooting these loads from a 1892 winchester that was made in 1911. Little recoil, great accuracy and starline brass is used so you can reload if you like.

    Shooting these in an original 1886 Winchester 73. Feeds perfectly and shoots well. A safe and fun load for this old gun.
